Do you have a forum on dimensioning? What are the optimal settings to send the maximum number of messages? Thanks.
algrims: Yes the sequence is correct. You were right about the USB port. I tried with the other one and it worked. Now that leads me to the question of how to make sure that when server is rebooted it always assigns same usb port to the device? That's in case we have more than one modem. Thanks.
algrims: Thanks for the reply :) I upgraded to the latest version and it solved the issue :P

algrims: Operating system name and version: Linux Fedora Core 12 Version of smsd: 1.16 Smsd installed from: package repository Name and model of a modem / phone: HUAWEI E220 HSDPA UTMS 3G USB MODEM Interface: USB I am using smstools to receive and send messages. Everything works great except that it attempts to read every single memory space (1-30) even if there is no messages. I know that it should be able to check for a new message first and then only it reads the incoming message at the location. Any suggestions? Thanks Al Grims
