softshape: OK so anyone can recommend reliable 8 or 16 port modem to use with SMS Server Tools? I used Wavecom-based chinese model for 3 years but their modules went off in 1-1.5 year.

is SMS Server Tools compatible with GoIP modems? I think to buy one but not sure will it work with sms3 or not.

we're using smsd with 16 modems. If each modem's folder gets more than 5-6 sms, disk I/O load goes to 100%.
Are there some optimization tips to reduce disk load when smsd's working?

we're using our modems only for SMS tasks (with SMS Server Tools 3 of course). But often people call to these numbers. Our task now is to make a voice autoresponder, a pre-recorded text "Hello you just called to the robot" :) that modems would play when voice call is coming. I don't know if SMS Server Tools can handle such situations, what would you recommend to use then?
