Operating system name and version: Windows Server 2003 + Cygwin Version of smsd: 3.1.8 Smsd installed from: sources Name and model of a modem / phone: Huawei E160 Interface: the modem has USB / but the connection uses a COM-port I've got two problems with my surfstick and SMS Server Tools 3: 1. There are "Unexpected input"-entries in the logfile: 2. There is no entry and no alarmevent if i cut the connection between the computer and the modem. The current settings are:

Try with init2 = AT^BOOT=0,0, it may disable "boot" reports.
A modem setting detect_unexpected_input = no will disable logging, but still is recommended that the modem does not send those messages.
Also check if a driver of the modem creates two serial ports, and in this case try to use the another one.
When you cut the connection, what is in the log (with loglevel = 7)? If there is "command is sent, waiting for the answer", and then nothing more for a long time, the driver of a port freezes and smsd cannot do nothing.
