Yesterday I installed our new monitoring server with nagios. To send status messages via SMS i used in previous installations the SMSTools. This worked every time perfect since yesterday. Sending a SMS doesn't work and I got unexpected timeout messages in smsd.log
I changed serial cable and the modem. The server is a Dell R310
But still got the message:

In the code there is a bug which causes this failure when running 64bit Ubuntu on Intel processor.

You need to upgrade to version 3.1.9 or later.

If you do not want to compile 3.1.12 from sources, there is 3.1.10-0.1 available in "maverick universe".

Soo everything works fine know. I'm using the maverick package from ubuntu. Sending and receiving a sms works.
