Operating system name and version: Windows 7 Version of smsd: 3.1.14 Smsd installed from: sources Name and model of a modem / phone: Nokia 3110c Interface: USB Installed smsd using cygwin in windows 7 environment and as recommended, wanted to add device info in the smsd.config. But when connected the above device and look up in the dev folder under cygwin, dont see any devices added. Please suggest the right approach, unable to find further help on this regard.

Cygwin does not show devices, but they still are there. Use Device Manager of Windows to see what is the port. For example, if the port is COM10, in the smsd.conf define device = /dev/com10 using lowercase letters.

Okay, in Device Manager you had COM18 and /dev/com18 still does not work. It's a problem in Cygwin and I do not know how to fix it. I have been running smsd under Windows 7, and everything worked as expected. Perhaps you should re-install Cygwin, but it's not sure if it helps.
