This looks very strange... The log says that you are sending to the number which starts with the country code 44. However, the PDU says that message is tried to send to 7890xxxxxx, without a country code. Have you edited the log? The original message file is in the /var/spool/sms/failed directory. Can you verify that there surely is To: 447890 etc. as a recipient? And in the log, later there is a line which says " Sending SMS to <number> failed, trying time n sec. Retries: n.", what exactly is the number in that line?

Hi thanks for the update. We have swapped over the SIM this morning to check and see if the problem followed the SIM or not but it was much the same apart from some cms error: 332 - which I understand are network time outs but I am not sure what I can or should do about the the other CMS error remains from the smsd.log :- the failed file root@xxxxxx-test:/var/spool/sms/failed# pg send_aA2DDy To: 447890626684 Modem: GSM1 IMSI: 234100303687173 Fail_reason: +CMS ERROR: 33825 Failed: 11-01-31 14:22:47 PDU: 0011000C914487092666480000FF15206499CD7E835A207A794E07B5CBF379F85C06 Thanks in advance for any help Regards Paul

In the new log the number format is correct in PDU, meaning that it does not cause this cms error.
Can you receive messages which are sent from your phone to the modem? I guess that no, but please verify this.
You have set check_network to zero. Why is that? If you do not disable checking, what is the result when registration is checked?

We could not receive messages.
I removed the line #check_network = 0
from the smsd.conf file and restarted the sms3 server process. still pick up the same errors
I moved the GSM Modem to another UBS Port just to see if that made any difference - which I did we are now able to send and receive sms messages.
Not sure why moving the usb port - changed things - because we have done that once before, also when we first tested SMS Server tools using an old Samsung G600 we used that port for about 3 weeks with out a problem.
Thanks Very much for your help and support -
Paul
