smsd version 3.1.3
I try to use # as a setting value
regular_run_cmd = AT+CUSD=1,"*100#"
[ Select ]
but all characters that go after # are recognised as a comment =(
do I really need newer version of SMS Tools?

You can use
regular_run_cmdfile
for this.
But there is now
3.1.5
available with rich set of new and enhanced features...
