What you mean? This is not suppose to happen? If you send a message (put a valid file at /var/spool/sms/outgoing) the message are no sent?
This sounds very like when I informed a invalid number. I don't remember to see any warning, but the result was like "nothing happening".

I've got similar problem with raspbian. When I put a file to outgoing spool it disappears, but nothing happens.

I think this is caused by a bug in smsd. Upgrade it to the 3.1.15.
