Name and model of a modem / phone: LG GM205
Interface: USB

A crazy question, I know that there are better modems. I have a test done with LG GM 205 phones. It works amazingly well. But more then 32 ttyACM are not possible.

It looks like a restriction by linux kernel, notby smstools. But I am asking this community because the use case is seldom.

Any hints?

Rudik

BTW: a former tested Cygwin configuration with the old 2.2.20 version works fine up to 16 GM205 devices.

I do not know for sure, but probably it's a limitation of ACM driver. At least on some systems much more than 32 ttyUSB ports are presented, but at the same time there are only 32 ACM devices.

I know one user who runs multiple servers with 32 USB modems per each. Perhaps those servers have this kind of a limitation with USB devices too.
