Operating system name and version: Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)
Version of smsd: Version 3.1.15
Smsd installed from: package repository
Name and model of a modem: Huawei E3531
Interface: USB

I want to receive SMS with my configuration, but the incoming folder is still empty. In the logfile I see the following entries around every 10 seconds:

my smsd.conf:
devices = GSM1
outgoing = /var/spool/sms/outgoing
checked = /var/spool/sms/checked
incoming = /var/spool/sms/incoming
logfile = /var/log/smstools/smsd.log
infofile = /var/run/smstools/smsd.working
pidfile = /var/run/smstools/smsd.pid
outgoing = /var/spool/sms/outgoing
checked = /var/spool/sms/checked
failed = /var/spool/sms/failed
incoming = /var/spool/sms/incoming
sent = /var/spool/sms/sent
stats = /var/log/smstools/smsd_stats
loglevel = 7

[GSM1]
#init =
device = /dev/ttyUSB2
incoming = yes
#pin =
baudrate = 115200

Is there any configuration missing? What's about the "unexpected input" logs? Can you help me?

Try these modem settings:

init = AT+CPMS="SM","ME","SM";+CNMI=2,0,0,2,1
init2 = AT^CURC=0
memory_start = 0
signal_quality_ber_ignore = yes

If this does not help, use a modem setting report_device_details = yes, restart smsd and show all details here from the log.
