Good day! I want to say a huge spaisbo software developer. We use it for early warning riders of the city about this problem. All accidents, breakdowns and other difficulties. Those who need help just send SMS to our gateway, and the system sends messages to all subscribed users.

I suppose it stands for Real Time, based on the context of the original message.

RT is a fabulous open source call logging and bug tracking software , though as poster above said in context is probably means realtime I would suppose.

http://bestpractical.com/rt/

SMSTools + RT has been a very stable and cheap way of alerting us of downtime and call alerts when we are away from our computers.

I'm using OpenVPN Access Server, good ole' swatch with a little bit of -pipe to a shell script that parses it's input (from swatch) and constructs an SMS file in the outgoing directory. Works like a charm, makes me happy.

Hardware: virtual machine RHEL6, a couple of 3G usb sticks.

Mr. Kasvi, may I present my sincerest thanks to you.

I use phone connected to master server and two servers connected via ser2net (serial to network proxy)
[sms daemon with network client would be better]

I used SMS sever to create a SMS "Wall" for my wedding. Great fun, every body enjoyed it. One shot application but very easily setup thanks to this code.
Very easy to use and as far I can say very reliable.

Thanks a lot to the developers. I could achieve exactly what I had in mind.
You enabled a great surprise...

I plan to also add 2 more vehicles used by my small business here in the Philippines. I use sqlite and PHP to handle the SMS/events and I use PHP and MySQL for my front end on an off-site server. I also make use of CRON to make sure all trackers are sending their reports.

Deployment: very small
Volume of 160-character SMs per day: 8,640 or 1 SMS every 30 seconds for 3 devices.

thanks for a great tool

I recently was in need of a system to notify me when a certain emails arrive, I don't wish to be notified of all emails.
SMS Server Tools to the rescue, installed under Cygwin, to send an SMS when required email arrives.

fwiw, I came across this tool very long time ago, but, till now, never used it.

Thanks for an amazing tool.

I have set up keyword for various Radio Stations and their Hosts - when someone messages with a keyword of the host name, it emails their inbox.
We also have a TV Station, so use it to alert on silence, frozen vision - any hardware issues through SNMP and Cacti which monitors IP network performance.
Currently only have one modem attached, but depending on the scaling and demand I might need to move the Radio service to a second modem - but at the moment its not too urgent.

Running on Debian, with a MySQL backend logging all in and out bound messages, have an Email to SMS gateway built, the hosts can reply to the sender by clicking reply in their email client.

As a second channel for secure data delivery. A mail message is sent to a recipient, comprising zip-encoded material. The password is then send via SMS.

Description: Remote relay control

Runs on a raspberryPI in very remote locations. The 4 relay outputs are used to power cycle electronic equipment , one in particular is a 3g Netcom modem that fails to reconnect to 3g at times.

The Raspberry has Ping-timeout, relay control, 1-wire temperature sensing, snmpwalk running and any alarms it detects it either sends as an e-mail or SMS. I mask sending out SMS messages with the presence of a file, if the file is present we SMS, if its not present we e-mail replys.

I have also coded up some python to act as an event handler for incoming GPIO pin status change to act as a "pseudo" alarm system you can activate via SMS. If someone opens the cabinet while the system is armed, we send out SMS notification.

This configuration is VERY reliable :-)
