Hello,

Iam using the sony ericsson k550i , installed cygwin in windows OS.
1)Could you help how to go about sms3 command, i cannot get to use, showing the bash command doesnot exist.
smsd and sendsms was working fine.

2)This was once the file contents in the incoming sms folder(random fliename).What does this mean.

The Inbox folder was empty when it tried retrieving the sms tough.

Also I havent got it working correctly the incoming as well as outgoing.
this is the conf. The device connecting to COM4 i tired with smsd -C GSM1

devices = GSM1
logfile = /var/log/smsd1.log
loglevel = 7
incoming = /var/spool/sms/incoming

[GSM1]
init = ATE0+CPMS="ME"
device = /dev/COM4
incoming = yes
outgoing = yes

Iam not sure with the ME part. The phone stores msgs to Memory auto and when i save it into sim smsd retrieves it.

Should smsd process be running when incoming sms is coming?
How to run this process everytime during bootup?

Also status monitor doesnt work, showing it doesnot exist.
i did install the g++-gcc something...
and also OSP mm library. How to run these.

Just cp -p scripts/sms3 /usr/local/bin and you can use the sms3 script.

Your phone had sent message stored into the memory. It is now removed. When using phone as a modem, do not store sent messages anymore.

A command smsd -C GSM1 is used to communicate manually with a modem. In normal cases you should use sms3 script to start the daemon.

You could check (with smsd -C GSM1) what is the answer for the following commands:

ATE1

AT+CPMS?

AT+CPMS=?

AT+CPMS="SM"

AT+CPMS?

Show the result here.

No. The modem must store all incoming messages into the memory.

Install smsd as a Windows service. See details from here.

Did you follow the instructions of OSSP mm? There is a file named INSTALL which tells how the installation should be done. Note that you can leave --prefix out, it's default value is usually good.

If you are still encountering some errors, please show these with a command you have tried.
