I have been trying make smsd function with a Sierra Wireless RV50. In the documentation for this modem, the following command needs to be invoked to send sms:

AT*SMSM2M=”<phone> <message>”

Our older modem used a different command, that being: at+cmgs= <phone>

Is it possible to configure smsd to use the AT*SMSM2M command when trying to send SMS?

Only the PDU mode is supported, because ASCII mode has limitations with character sets.
