Currently I use the K3772. I'm not sure if it is stable for long-term use but so far both receiving and sending of SMS work.

I've tested the K3772 with smstools now for long time: It does not work for long-term use. It works a day and then stops working. I don't know if smstools or the K3772 is the reason for this.

I've now bought two MTD-H5-2.0 as suggested by Machtl. I hope they work and will come back when I have results.

After a few months testing with the €185 device MTD-H5-2.0: Doesn't run stable with smstools too, at least when used to receive SMS.
