I do not have complete answer right now. You could point your question to www.centos.org Forum.

Some similar issue, but with Huawei device, was resolved by this topic: https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=26747&forum=40. Perhaps your issue can be fixed with usb_modeswitch too.

I found the problem.

Centos 5.6 is using kernel 2.6.18 and an old version of udev.

Falcom states that the kernel must be 2.6.20 or newer and you must use "driver" from them for the udev mapping to make sense.

it works fine on Fedora core 15 on kernel 2.6.3x and the driver from Falcom and will probably work on centos 6 when it is released.

thank you for the reply though.

p.s. it might work out of the box without the udev mapping "driver", I forgot to try it out before installing it.
