Operating system name and version: linux Fedora Core 12
Version of smsd: smstools3-3.1.14
Smsd installed from: sources
Name and model of a modem / phone: HUAWEI E270
Interface:USB

Having major issues getting AT+CUSD to work:

Tried almost every option from AT+CUSD=1,"*120#",15 to ATD*120#
Also tried in PDU format. The thing is that AT+CUSD=? returns OK

Any suggestions are welcome. Also any other USB modems know to work with linux and can handle this command AT+CUSD.

2011-07-06 11:30:07,7, GSM1: -> AT+CUSD=1,"AA980C3602",15
2011-07-06 11:30:07,7, GSM1: Command is sent, waiting for the answer
2011-07-06 11:30:23,7, GSM1: put_command expected (\+CUSD:)|(ERROR), timeout occurred. 1.
2011-07-06 11:30:23,7, GSM1: <- OK
2011-07-06 11:30:23,7, GSM1: -> AT+CUSD=1,"AA980C3602",15

I assume that you have verified with a handset that *120# is correct sequence and works with your operator, right?

E270 creates more than one USB interface. Check with dmesg what interfaces are available, and try with another one.

Yes the sequence is correct. You were right about the USB port.
I tried with the other one and it worked.

Now that leads me to the question of how to make sure that when server is rebooted it always assigns same usb port to the device? That's in case we have more than one modem.

Thanks.

You need something like shown in this post: [solved] Multiple GSM Modems. If your modems are not identical, see also this: Ubuntu (10.04.1) /dev/ttyUSBx changes at reboot, FIX using udev.
