As long as the device is the same, it should work. Remember to use the settings shown in this post, and smsd 3.1.8.

Can you recommend a good howto for smsd installation and setup?

You have received your modem now, right?

I do not know about "good" howto's... ;)

The installation depends on your Operating System. If you are running Unix style OS, there is a short howto on How to compile/install. Basic installation will install a sample smsd.conf to the /etc/ directory. Modify that as shown in the post I mentioned, and BenQ will work.

If you have any troubles or questions while installing, you could open a new topic and describe at least what OS you are running.

Thank you. No, I do not received the modem yet (I am waiting), but I have an old mobile phone (SonyEricsson T300) and I want to try him as a sms device. My OS is Ubuntu Lucid.

I've been using Google for the whole night.

Please, can somebody help and give some example "AT script"

Sorry, I cannot help you with this issue, which also is off-topic for smstools.

whether this modem can have 2 nodes/ports in linux? (sms and data simultaneously)

It depends on drivers for networking, and I'm not experienced with them. Notice that this modem is GPRS, not 3G, meaning that network connection anyway is slow.

Some Huawei devices can provide 3G connection at the same time when other interface can be used for SMS messaging.
